County Durham Learning

County Durham Learning

The main aims of the County Durham Learning Project are:

  • To bring together in partnership a range of providers of learning across County Durham
  • To act as a standard, recognised by County Durham Lifelong Learning Partnership, to which ultimately all non-accredited learning should adhere.
  • To ensure that learning programmes are planned, developed and administered in a format compatible with and consistent with appropriate Level 1 and Level 2 accredited courses to aid progression into lifelong learning.
  • To organise countywide staff and curriculum development related to County Durham Learning in order to achieve consistency of standards.
  • To satisfy the requirements of the Department for Education and Skills, Adult Learning Inspectorate and Learning & Skills Council.  This will assist providers to meet inspection standards, enable easy access to external funding and ensure best use of limited public funds.
  • To ensure that holders of the CDL Quality Kitemark continue to meet the standards for centre approval and course approval for County Durham Learning.
